Anna Mae Washington, Age 71, of Livonia, MI passed away June 24, 2019.
Anna Mae Buckley was born December 11, 1947 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Arnie Jones and Gladys Bryant Buckley. Anna was an only child. She accepted Christ at an early age.
Anna was educated in the New Orleans Public Schools and graduated from George Washington Carver Senior High School in 1967. She was joined in holy matrimony with David Washington, Sr. and to this union, their son, David Washington, Jr. was born. Anna later gave birth to two more sons, Anthony Jerome Washington and Bryan Keith Davis.
Anna was employed in the medical field as a ward clerk with Touro Infirmary and later with Methodist Hospital of New Orleans. She also worked in the security field.
Anna enjoyed spending time with family, being a Boy Scout and football mom, and traveling. After escaping the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Anna relocated temporarily to Houma, Louisiana and then moved north in 2006 to Detroit, Michigan to be with family.
Anna departed this life at 4:41 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2019 surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Arnie and Gladys Buckley, her “sister”/cousin Marie Keys, and her daughter-in-law, Sheriba K. Washington.
She leaves to cherish her memories: 3 sons - David Washington, Jr. (Kelly), Anthony J. Washington and Bryan Keith Davis (Barbara); 7 grandchildren – Xaundra Lee Washington of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jeanna Lynn Washington, India Arlene Washington, Joshua David Edward Washington, Jordyn Kelly Elsie Washington, Caleb Embry Bryan Davis, and Kaylee Lejean Davis; and a host of friends and family members.
