It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara Long, who left us peacefully on January 4, 2025, in Livonia, Michigan. Born on February 5, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan, Barbara lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of those around her.
A proud graduate of high school in Southwestern-Detroit, class of 1952, Barbara exemplified dedication, both in her education and in her community involvement. She was actively engaged in her church and local VFW, where her spirit of service and commitment to others shone brightly. She also served proudly as a Hospital Administrator, serving those in need during their most trying moments.
Barbara was married to Gene Long, who preceded her in death. Together, they nurtured a loving family, which included their children, Karen Moore and Barry Long. Barbara now joins her late son, Jeff Long, her late daughter, Linda Long, and her beloved mother, Anna Glotzhober, in eternal rest.
Throughout her life, Barbara had a profound love for travel, relishing the experiences and adventures that came her way. This passion for exploration enriched her life and provided her with countless cherished memories.
As we remember Barbara, we reflect on her warmth, kindness, and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her. Her legacy is carried on by her loving children, Karen and Barry, who seek to honor her memory in all that they do.
Barbara Long was a remarkable woman whose life was filled with grace and purpose. She will be deeply missed, yet lovingly remembered by all whose lives were enriched by her presence.
