Bobby Shaw Bryson, 84, of Inkster, MI passed away January 26, 2022.

Bobby Shaw Bryson, 84, of Inkster, MI passed away on January 26, 2022. Born on July 7, 1937 in Gray Court, South Carolina and raised by his parents Booker T. and Rubye E. Bryson.

He moved to Michigan with his parents during his teenage years where he attended and graduated from Inkster High School. In his early adulthood, he pursued many entrepreneurial endeavors which he continued throughout his life. He enjoyed storytelling, his favorite story that he would tell anyone who would listen, is the one about the fox in the rabbit hole. He also loved to reminisce about his hometown in South Carolina or how he met his beautiful “light skinned” wife from the country that knew how to cook. He always said he knew he had a good one when he married Nancy Bryson.

Bobby and Nancy entered holy matrimony on May 6, 1965. To this union, they had three daughters: Yvette, Kimberly, and Barbara. Prior to his union to Nancy, Bobby had a daughter, Deetra. Bobby accepted Christ at an early age and later became a charter member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where Bobby served on the men’s ministry and usher board.

A great provider for his family, Bobby was employed at Detroit Diesel in 1963 and stayed until his retirement in 2000. He was a man of wisdom and advice, enjoyed laughing, eating, and gardening. He loved baseball caps, and proudly wore his monogrammed “Bobby” hat as conversation piece. An avid lover of horse racing, Bobby enjoyed going to the racetrack. Later in life Bobby and his caregiver, Donna, became the best of friends and shared many laughs, songs, dances, and meals.  He affectionately called her “Boss Lady.”

Bobby was preceded in death by his loving wife Nancy Bryson; his parents Booker T. and Ruby E. Bryson; and his siblings Beulah Bryson and Booker T. Watson.

Bobby leaves to cherish his memory: Yvette (Scott) White, Kimberly Williams, Barbara Morgan, Deetra Whitfield; bonus daughter, Shirl Lampkins; siblings, Ce-Ola Sullivan, Jimmy Thompson; grandchildren, Jalen Johnson, Kayla Johnson, Kevin Williams Jr., Kobe Williams, Kendall Williams; Teresa Holland, Tiffany (Ray) Henderson, Tiana (Nathaniel) Ingram, Gregory Morgan, Phillip Morgan, Christopher Morgan, Natasha Lampkins, Christal Lampkins, Shatisha (Tyrone) Hibbler, Alex Ford, Phylicia (Michael) Milliner; his caregiver, Donna Ray Cook; and a host of nieces and nephews, church family, neighbors and friends.
