Carlette J. Purvis

d. December 11, 2019

Carlette J. Purvis, Age 54, of Romulus, MI passed away December 11, 2019.

On April 5, 1965, Carlette Purvis was born in Cleveland Ohio to Paulette Purvis and Leon Mardock.

Carlette moved to Inkster Michigan in 1978. She attended Inkster High School, where she graduated and received her diploma in 1983. Shortly after graduating high school, she gave birth to her daughter, Kiara Nicole Purvis and Rashawn Antonio Purvis. Carlette dedicated her life to taking care of her son until he was called home on December 4, 2003. She gave her daughter all should had and enjoyed watching her grow into a woman. You would often hear her talking about what her daughter was doing and all she accomplished. When she became a grandmother, it made her beam inside so much, because she was so proud. She would support Kaden at his games when she could, and loved to share how good he was in sports and his school work.

Carla, known to family and friends, spread her love to each of her family members. She became like a second mom to her nieces and nephews and poured her love into them as if they were her own. Each of them can share a special moment about what she gave them. But the friendship she had with her mother, was unlike no other. They were best friends and riding partners, sharing grocery trips, family reunion trips or regular outings. Carla always gave her mom extra care with all the special things she would go out of her way to do.

Carla was a strong woman who loved life and working hard. She was employed at Walton Wood Senior Citizens Home, where she dedicated 15 years of her life caring for seniors and loving her job. Every time she would walk into the room she could brighten it, with just her smile. The residents loved her dearly and so did her co-workers. Carla had a bubbly personality, beautiful smile and positive attitude which made her always a joy to be around. She was a generous woman who lived to serve others. She was a compassionate person, one who loved God, family and friends. Her primary focus was to do all she could to make anyone happy.

Carla was preceded in death by her son, Rashawn Purvis and older brother Kevin Purvis. Carla leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughter Kiara Purvis; her grandson, Kaden Baker, a devoted mother, Paulette Purvis; one sister, Lisa Purvis; one younger brother, Charles (Caprina) Purvis; her nieces: Sharay, Shannon, Arica, Danielle, Chrissy, Deasia, and Courtney; her nephews: Aaron and Darion; a special friendship of love with Dave “Babyboy” Briggs, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
