Edmonia Goldston, 93, of Westland, MI passed away July 31, 2023.

Edmonia Goldston was born on August 11, 1929 in Memphis, Tennessee to the union of the late Fannie and Flavers Davis.  The Family moved to Inkster, Michigan in 1930. Edmonia graduated from Inkster High School class of 1950.

Edmonia was a dedicated worker with strong work ethics throughout her career.  She retired from the State of Michigan as an Adjudicator within the Unemployment Insurance Agency (Michigan Unemployment Office) in 1984.

Edmonia was an excellent seamstress and she enjoyed, knitting and camping.  She had eclectic taste in music, and her favorite color was green.  She enjoyed scrabble, cross word puzzles, and she watched Jeopardy every day.  She enjoyed making delicious desserts during the holidays and at all family gatherings.  Her family loved her coleslaw, rhubarb pie and lemon jello cake.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister.  She was always willing to encourage, support, and open her home.

Edmonia was a life time member of the Rosicrucian Order, AMORC and served Thebes Lodge, AMORC as an officer on the Ritual and Initiation Teams.  She was the Chairperson for the Robes and Regalia Committee, instrumental in fashioning and sewing the Robes for Ritualistic Activities. As a labor of love, she sewed other accoutrements for the lodge membership that was worn during the monthly activities.

Edmonia transitioned home on July 31. 2023.  She was preceded in death by her sisters Mary, Elizabeth, Persephone, Evangeline, Burnese, Flavers, and Johnnie.  She leaves to cherish her memories: son Eric Goldston (Geneva) of Inkster, Michigan.  Grandchildren Edward Withers (Fran), Erica Goldston, Malcolm Goldston II (De’Adra), Eric Goldston (Markeisha) and great grandchildren Nichole Martin, Maiya O’Neal (Dallas), Eric Gibson, Joshua Withers, Kieara Goldston, David Taylor and Mackenzie Goldston.  Edmonia will be missed by many loved nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.

The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at Four Season Rehabilitation and Nursing and St. Mary’s Hospital.
