Jacklaine Marleen Lyons Wimberly, 77, Frankfort and formerly of Detroit, MI, died Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the home of her daughter in Frankfort. A native of Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Bernice Brantley Lyons and the widow of Clarence A. Wimberly, Jr. She retired after many years of service with Target in Livonia, MI as Cash Office Associate. In her leisure time, she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, listening to gospel music and watching football and basketball. She was an avid Golden State Warriors fan. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. She was a long-time member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Wayne, MI and of Bethesda Temple Church of the Living God in Frankfort, where she sang in the choir and was one of the mothers of the church.
In addition to her spouse and parents, one daughter, Krystal Ruffin, and two sisters, Lorraine Davis and Elaine Harper, preceded her in death.
Survivors include four children, Kyra Denise Avery-Love (Andre’ Love) of Romulus, MI, Clarence A. Wimberly III (Trimika) of Westland, MI, Karen M. Bond of Frankfort and Carnell Dion Wimberly of Detroit, MI; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Cremation was selected in accordance with her wishes. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Bethesda Temple Church of the Living God, 508 Glenns Creek Rd., Frankfort, KY 40601. Bishop Robert Manley, Jr. will officiate. A Memorial Service will also be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 14, 2023 at New Hope Church, 33640 Michigan Ave., Wayne, MI 48184. Rev. Dr. Virgil Humes will officiate.
