IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James
Akers
December 30, 1962 – January 25, 2026
James Akers, a beloved father, Peepaw-Papa, and cherished friend, was born on December 30, 1962, in Detroit, MI. He passed away on January 25, 2026, in Wyandotte, MI, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that will never be forgotten.
James attended Robichaud High School, where he made lasting memories and friendships that would stay with him throughout his life. His spirit was vibrant, filled with a passion for softball and music, hobbies that he embraced with enthusiasm and joy. These interests not only filled his days but also created cherished moments with those he loved.
As a father to his daughters Jeanie, Darlene, Angie, Anita, and Amanda, James exemplified the meaning of unconditional love. He took immense pride in being a guiding light for his family, nurturing a home full of laughter and happiness. His role as a grandparent was equally precious to him; he derived great joy from the company of his grandchildren Aaron, Alea, Little Raul, Lito, Haley, Jeffery, Anthony, Keyara, Kendalelyn, and Elijah. Furthermore, he celebrated the arrival of his great-grandchildren, Liam, Alyvia, and Alina, embracing each moment with them as a testament to his enduring legacy.
James is survived by his loving wife Debbie and his family, including sons-in-law Jeff and John, as well as his sister Debbie-Lynn and brother Daniel, along with his sisters-in-law Connie and Ruth, and cousin Brittanie. His family stood strong by his side, sharing in the laughter, love, and countless memories they created together.
He was preceded in death by his father Dale Akers Sr., his mother Patricia, and his brothers Dale Jr. and Fred, alongside his sister-in-law Oda. Each of these souls left an indelible mark on his life, and their memories will forever be entwined with the love he carried in his heart.
James has gone home to be with the Lord, where he will forever watch over all those he held dear. His loving spirit will remain alive in the hearts of his family and friends, guiding them through life just as he always did. As we reflect on his remarkable life, we find solace in knowing that his love will always be missed but never forgotten.
