Joann Cagle, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on October 18, 2025, in Newport, MI, at the age of 61. She was born on March 31, 1964, in Trenton, MI, and from an early age, her cheerful spirit and infectious laughter brought joy to all who knew her. Joann attended Roosevelt High School, where she graduated in 1983, reflecting her commitment to education and personal growth.

Throughout her life, Joann was known for her unwavering dedication to her family. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, often proclaiming that being together was the greatest treasure of all. Her family will forever remember her as the glue that held them together, a steadfast source of love and support. In her later years, Joann held pride in obtaining her medical assistant certification and dedicating her talents to serve in environmental services at the hospital, an accomplishment that showcased her compassionate nature and commitment to helping others.

An avid shopper, Joann found joy in little things that made life beautiful. Her laughter still echoes in our hearts, a testament to the richness of her spirit.

Joann leaves behind her cherished children, Randall, Craig, and Rachel (Jeremy) Rice, along with her adoring grandchildren: Alaynah, Ethan, Ashlynn, Natalie, Josiah, Liam, and Wyatt. Each grandchild holds a special place in her heart, and she took immense delight in watching them grow.

Supporting Joann through life's journey were her loving sisters, Debbie Richey and Janice Gile, and her brother Bobby (Vivian) Richey. They shared countless memories and laughter, and Joann’s legacy of love will continue to bind them together.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Hazel Richey, and her half-sister, Madeline. Their memories live on through the stories told and the love shared within the family.

As we honor Joann’s beautiful soul, we celebrate the lessons she imparted and the love she so generously shared.

Until we meet again, Mom, we are forever grateful for the life you shared and the joyous legacy of love you have left behind.
