John Kenny

It is with great sadness that we announce our brother, John Francis Kenny, has passed away peacefully surrounded by his siblings.John lost his battle with cancer Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Angela Hospice in Livonia, MI.

He was born on November 11, 1964 in Westland, Michigan, as the youngest of nine children to the late John J. Kenny and Jane (Lehr) Kenny. John is proceeded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Richard (Janet) Shinn.

Our beloved brother is survived by siblings; Mike (Gloria), Paula (Gil) Boulet, Beth (Dan) Amann, Janet Shinn, Mark (Robin), Ruth (Dwayne) Pianga, Mary (John) Crabbe, Laurie (Larry) Fuciarelli and numerous nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Johnny will be remembered for his many talents and passions including: golf, cycling, cooking and his dedication to Michigan sports of all kinds especially The Detroit Red Wings. He was an avid historian especially of the Civil War, WWl & WWll eras. He was quick to inject humor into a conversation without hesitation. Being outdoors brought John great peace. John, the greatest gift our parents ever gave us is the gift of each other, you may be gone from our lives but you’ll be forever in our hearts.

A private celebration of life will be held with the immediate family on Monday, October 7, 2024
