Katherine Francis Deron, lovingly known as Kathy, passed away on August 26, 2026, in Westland, Michigan. She was born on August 5, 1946, in Sugar Notch, Pennsylvania, and will be remembered with deep love by those who knew her.
Kathy found joy in life’s simple and comforting pleasures. She enjoyed knitting, music, horror movies, and sci-fi shows, interests that brought warmth, entertainment, and personality to the days she shared with her family. Those who loved her will remember the familiar happiness she found in the things that made her uniquely herself.
She leaves behind a family who will carry her memory forward with love. Kathy is survived by her daughter, Theresa Deron-Campbell; her son Edward Deron and Melanie; her son Jeremy Deron and Lisa; and her daughter Kelly Deron-Dolby and Christopher as well as 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.In their hearts, her love, presence, and the many moments they shared with her will remain lasting gifts.
Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald Deron to whom she is now reunited.
Her family also extends heartfelt gratitude to American House and the Medical Team Hospice for the kindness, compassion, and love shown to their mother over the last five years. Their care brought comfort and support during an important season of Kathy’s life, and it is remembered with sincere appreciation.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at The Husband Family Funeral Home, 2401 S Wayne Rd, Westland, Michigan 48186. A Family Hour will take place on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at The Husband Family Funeral Home, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.
Kathy’s life touched her family in lasting ways, and her memory will continue to be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
