Lana Reinhart, a cherished member of the Garden City and Westland communities, passed away on October 14, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on January 14, 1941, in Garden City, Michigan, Lana spent most of her life contributing to her community and embracing the joy of social connections.
The youngest of four children, Lana was born to Gerald Russell Clark and Florence Marie Barlow, joining her siblings Manya, LeRoy, and Budd. Throughout her life, she exemplified warmth and empathy, demonstrating an intrinsic desire to connect with everyone around her. She was truly a people person, always eager to hear about the lives and adventures of others, which endeared her deeply to many.
Lana's career unfolded mostly in the Garden City and Westland area, where she dedicated herself to her work while cultivating strong relationships with those she met. Her legacy is marked by these connections, reflecting her character and passion for life.
In her personal life, Lana found immense joy in various hobbies and interests. She had a particular fondness for coffee and tea, appreciating the simple pleasures of life, such as cucumbers, onions, and tomatoes. Whether relishing in the sweetness of spearmint mints and lemon heads or enjoying the nostalgic taste of black licorice and penny candy, she embraced life’s little treasures. Autumn days filled with crisp air, the beauty of orange-pink sunsets, blue moons, and rainbows brought her joy, resonating with her love for nature's wonders. Lana was captivated by butterflies, robins, and frogs, channeling her energy into gardening, where marigolds and other flowers thrived under her care.
Creativity was an essential part of who Lana was. She enjoyed crafts, crochet, and sewing, finding pleasure in making items her own through painting and design. Her musical tastes were equally eclectic, spanning the vibrant sounds of the 50s, 60s, and 70s rock, the soulful rhythms of blues, and the uplifting melodies of classical and gospel music.
Strong in her faith, her belief in God and her love for the Bible provided her with comfort and guidance throughout her life. She will be fondly remembered for her vibrant spirit, lively conversations, and the love she showered upon her family.
Lana leaves behind her son, Todd Hyde, and a legacy of love and fond memories shared with those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa Marie Hyde, and is beloved by her nieces, nephews, and many friends and family members who will cherish her memory.
Lana Reinhart will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
