LeBaron Shelby, 68, of Romulus, MI passeed away October 30, 2022.
LeBaron Clifton Shelby was born on May 4,1954 to George and Jessie Shelby, in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Affectionately called “Butch” as a child, he was later called “Bear” by family and friends. Although brought up as a Christian, LeBaron was not a spiritual person.
As a child LeBaron was a great artist. In just the first grade he painted a map of the United States with oil paint. This event went on to have him enrolled into DIA art classes all the way through High School. LeBaron was on the dive team at Inkster High School, winning several medals and setting records for diving. Some have yet to be broken. He went on to become a truck driver by trade. He enjoyed archery, video games, and socializing. However, his passion was his Hot Rods. Building them, driving them, and just looking at them with friends. Bear was a great friend. He was there whenever anyone called him.
Bear was preceded in death by his father George Shelby, his brothers Kevin and George, his sister Sheilah, and soulmate Katherine Bowman.
He is survived by his mother Jessie Shelby; his sister Gina Allen; sons Brandon (Gloria) Bell, Anthony (Kristin) Hamm; his daughter Chastity (Anthony) White; his grandchildren, Mikel Sleep, Kallyanna Powers, Athena Bell, Caiden Mullins, Aiden Casteels, Kenneth Hamm, Mark Allen Hamm, Tyler Wright, Brandon White, and Justin White; his great-grand daughter, Aubrey Sleep; his niece Mariah Tatum; nephew Kurtis Allen II; and a host of great nieces and nephews, other family members and loving friends who will cherish his memory.
