Linda Kay Cox, born February 7, 1944, in Dearborn, Michigan, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 5, 2026.

On April 4, 1964, Linda married her beloved husband, Johnnie, beginning a life that would span more than 62 years. Together they raised four children: John (Tammy), Pamela, Paula (Basil), and Lynnette.

Linda was a proud grandmother to 12 grandchildren: John, Amanda, Travis, Basil John, Curtiss, Nicholas, T.J., Luke, John Shannon, Cooper, Cash, and Deilia Lindakay. Her family grew to include six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Linda was a woman of quiet determination and remarkable resilience. Strong-willed and independent, she lived with dignity, strength, and an enduring faith that carried her through every season of life. She was not one to openly express her emotions, but those who knew her best understood the depth of her love, shown through quiet acts of service, steadfast commitment, and unwavering devotion to her family.

One of Linda’s greatest joys was fishing, something she loved throughout most of her life. Trips up north were among her favorite things to do, and no matter how many fish she caught over the years, she still seemed genuinely surprised each time she felt one on the line. It was a simple joy that remained with her and will always bring a smile to those who shared those moments with her.

While her family is heartbroken by her passing, they rejoice in the assurance that Linda is now home with the Lord she faithfully served. Her strength, faith, and the many quiet ways she cared for her family leave a lasting legacy in the generations that follow. And in the difficult days ahead, those who loved her will undoubtedly hear Linda’s familiar words in their hearts—the simple reassurance she offered so often: “It’ll be alright.”
