Mollie Green was born on October 11, 1944, in Coffeeville, Mississippi, to Dorothy Fox and James Green. She had five siblings and four of her siblings preceded her in death, and she leaves one surviving sibling L.C. Green to cherish their shared memories.

Mollie made her peaceful transition from labor to reward on June 12, 2026, at her home in Romulus, Michigan.

Mollie lived in Grenada, Mississippi until the age of 14. In 1958, she moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she continued her education through the Detroit Public School system and graduated from Northeastern High School.

Mollie accepted Christ at an early age and faithfully attended Free Christian Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Leroy Tillman and Evangelist Georgia Jackson. She served faithfully as a member of the Nurses Guild.

Mollie was blessed with four beautiful children: Annette, Lisa, Andre (who preceded her in death), and Dion.

Mollie loved life and lived it fully. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, and cooking whenever she had the opportunity. She never met a stranger and was known for her quiet, gentle voice and beautiful smile that brightened every room she entered.

Mollie was truly a ray of sunshine to everyone who knew her. Her favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalm: “The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want...”

In the early 1960s, Mollie began her working career at Famous Furniture as a file clerk. Throughout her career, she also worked at a bakery, General Motors, Eastern Box Company, and Henry Ford Hospital in housekeeping, where she retired in November 2021.

After retirement, Mollie enjoyed traveling and spending quality time with her loved one. She cherished visiting her granddaughter Kenya and her mother Monica in Cordova, Tennessee, visiting her daughter Annette in Chicago, Illinois, and attending family reunions in Mississippi.

Mollie enjoyed the simple pleasures in life – drinking vanilla milkshakes, eating catfish, watching Gunsmoke, The Rifleman, and Murder, She Wrote. She found joy in family, laughter, and creating memories with those she loved.

Green (Christine), Louisville, Kentucky, and Daughters-In-Law: Monica Goldsby of Cordova, TN and Jenny DeBardelaben of Southfield, MI. She also leaves a host of family members and friends who will forever cherish the love and memories she shared.

Mollie’s legacy of faith, service, laughter, wisdom and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
