Samairah
Walker
June 6, 2008 – April 24, 2026
The tender light of a promising life was extinguished far too soon with the passing of Samairah Lenae Walker, who left this world on April 24, 2026, in Romulus, MI. Born on June 6, 2008, in Superior Township, MI at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Samairah graced the lives of all who knew her with a spirit vibrant and compassionate, a young soul full of dreams and determination.
Samairah was a radiant young woman whose ambitions were as clear as the dawn. Enrolled in Canton Preparatory and WCCC, she was on the threshold of a great achievement—scheduled to graduate in 2026 and steadily progressing towards earning her Nursing degree through her Senior Associates program. Her academic dedication was marked by distinction; she proudly earned a place on the Principal's List Honor Roll, a testament to both her intellect and tireless effort.
Beyond her studies, Samairah cherished the simple joys of life—shopping excursions, movie nights, and, most importantly, precious moments gathered with family and friends. Her laughter and warmth were a soothing balm, a presence that will be deeply missed in the shared spaces she once illuminated.
In this time of grief, her family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to her school; Canton Preparatory, Principal Carlos Hall, and April Agosta for their unwavering love and support throughout this painful journey. Their care stands as a beacon of kindness and solace amid sorrow.
Samairah is lovingly remembered by her devoted father, Samuel Walker; her caring mother, Theresa Ann Walker; and her cherished sister, Saliah Theresa Walker. These living threads of her legacy hold onto memories of a brightness that time cannot dim. Her memory also resides gently in the hearts of her departed grandparents: Diane and Frank Gianfermi on her mother’s side, and Linda Walker and Samuel Turner on her father’s side.
The visitation to honor Samairah’s memory will take place on May 6, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Husband Family Funeral Home, located at 2401 S Wayne Rd, Westland, MI 48186. The following day, May 7, the family will gather at the same venue for a private event at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM.
Though the years ahead have been cruelly shortened, the imprint of Samairah Lenae Walker’s existence endures—a luminous reminder of beauty, hope, and the enduring strength of love. She was, and forever will be, a cherished daughter, sister, student, and friend whose journey, though brief, touched the hearts of all fortunate enough to know her.
I am the resurrection and the life. He that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live; and whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. John 11:25-26
