Temika Thompson, Age 41, of Wayne, MI passed away February 19, 2019.
Temika Donyelle Thompson was born and raised in Wayne, Michigan. She was born to Patrick Tyus and Charlene Martin. Every life tells a story. Temika’s experiences, relationships, and accomplishments were combined to create a compelling and unique legacy of love and devotion.
Temika was often referred to as “Dimple Meek” because her smile and dimples were so big they had the power to brighten any room. Temika loved life and lived for laughter!
Temika was a 1996 graduate of Wayne Memorial High School and studied nursing at Wayne County Community College. After the passing of her mother in February 1998, at the tender age of 20, Temika, a natural nurturer, put her dreams and aspirations on hold to take on the responsibility to raise her siblings Charlene, Quantae, and Jasmine. Family meant everything to Temika, she used her sense of humor and joy to bridge her family together. The brilliance in her personality was one of a kind, and in her presence you could not deny feeling loved!
As time went on, Temika re-entered the workforce, she decided nursing wasn't her calling because she was squeamish when drawing blood, and soon a career change was on the horizon. Temika pursued a successful career in sales and was an entrepreneur at heart. Temika's true passion later became finance where she worked tirelessly as a loan officer helping clients rebuild their credit and obtaining loans. In December 2018, Temika accomplished her dream and obtained her mortgage broker license while working for Quicken Loans.
As a woman of vision and purpose she set out to create and launch her own event planning company Whale Planned Divine, LLC in 2018. A creative soul who refused to see limitations, her standard often went beyond the stars.
Temika was raised in the church and openly confessed and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. As a humble servant of our Lord, she was a fearless woman of God and remained steadfast in her faith! As an active member at her church, Temika served as Secretary, Sunday School Teacher/Superintendent, Deaconess, and Youth Advocate at Greater Works Deliverance Ministries, Incorporated with Dr. Teresa A. Moton as Pastor. Temika was faithful and gave of herself continuously to the work of the Lord.
A union of love, laughter, and friendship began when Temika married the love of her life, Kirk Thompson on June 2, 2010. Temika's greatest accomplishment and joy was being the mother to her three beautiful children Alana, Robert, and Kaleb. She worked tirelessly to afford her family special memories and her children all of the opportunities she never had. She lived in her calling as a Christian, wife, and mother and she went above and beyond for her family.
Stylish and strong, she fought fashionably; never letting negativity diminish her shine! Temika was a devoted sister, loyal friend, steadfast wife, and unconditional mother. She opened her heart and poured out unmeasurable love to extended family, friends, coworkers, and even strangers.
Temika, you will be missed but never forgotten!
Temika made her transition on February 19, 2019. Her angelic soul is now resting in peace with our Father in heaven. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Kirk Thompson; her mother Charlene Martin (who preceded her in death); her father Patrick Tyus (Gloria); mother-in-law, Helen Thompson; her children, Alana, Robert, and Kaleb; Her siblings, Tara Walker (Donald), Gregory Thompson, Natisha Martin, Charlene Martin, Quantae James, and Jasmine James; Her nephew Anthony Robertson, II; nieces, Pashane Martin, Kayla Robertson, Autumn Walker; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
