d. October 30, 2022

Tony C. Morgan, 64, of Westland, MI passed away October 30, 2022.

Deacon Tony Carroll Morgan was born February 6,1958, the seventh child of John D. Morgan and Blanche E. Gunnison Morgan, in Mobile, Alabama. Spending his childhood and youth in Alabama, he attended Lillie B. Williamson High School in Mobile, Alabama. A long-time resident of Detroit, Michigan, Tony was preceded in death by his parents, John and Blanche Morgan, Grand Parents James and Louise Walker, his Brother Johnnie L. Morgan and Grandson Barion Green.

Tony began his love for cars, later working in several auto plants. He built his first car as a teenager. An expert automobile mechanic and technician, he opened and maintained T&T Mr. Fix-It Auto Mechanic Shop on the corner of Epworth and Warren Street for over 20 years. As a result of his challenging work and dedication to the community he was recognized by city officials and the Governor of Michigan. He was a member of the Masons. Tony enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, a little hunting, music, traveling, solving puzzles, good food, and spending time with friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory and to celebrate his life;  two daughters; Deneshia Bracy, a loving and devoted daughter La Toshia Green; four sons, Tony Clark, Broderick Green, Antonino Carroll Strange and Tyrus Morgan; several grandchildren-one loving and devoted granddaughter, Tayliah Parker, Broderick, Jr., Davion, LaKayla, Davonte and Isiah Green and Jordan Carolyn Clark, Avianna Strange, six siblings; Linda M. Gibbs, Portia (Darrell) Payne, Gloria (Morris Dowdlan), Brenda Morgan, Debra Morgan, and Gregory (Rosalyn)Morgan; and two devoted best friends,  Tony Terrell Wright and Angela Clark Hall.  Affectionately known to his nieces and nephews as “Uncle Tony,” they meant everything to him.

A true man of God, he attended Third New Hope Baptist Church of Detroit, Michigan, where he served as a deacon at the West Campus. He was regularly active with the transportation ministry focusing on the summer program outings. As a founding member, Deacon Tony was instrumental in the formation of the Room Church in 2021, in Detroit, Michigan and served in many capacities. Deacon Tony loved his church leader, Rev. Dr. Genetta Hatcher and his Room Church family. He was an active member of the Men’s Prayer Line Call group meeting every Tuesday and Thursday morning to uplift men devoting their hearts to Christ.

As a young man, Deacon Tony, Uncle Tony, our brother Tony, and Mr. Fix-It could light up a room with his beautiful smile and infectious laugh. Tony will be missed by so many people because of his genuine spirit.
