Valentine Thomas Bonkowski, born on October 31, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, to Walter and Veronica (Maciejewski) passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, in Westland, Michigan. He leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and unwavering dedication to those he cherished.
Valentine graduated from Garden City High School, where he fostered friendships that would last a lifetime. Throughout his life, he exemplified the virtues of kindness and generosity, and he consistently made those around him feel valued and respected.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sallie Nadine (Skellett) Bonkowski, and his children: son Steven and daughters Nadine and Sharon. His family extended further with the joy of ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense pride and happiness for him.
Valentine joins his late siblings in rest: brothers Bernard, Leonard, and George, along with sister Jane Ann. He will be remembered fondly by his family and friends for his warmth, humor, and the countless moments that brought joy to those who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
