Avery Douglas, Sr., 77, of Sterling Heights, MI passed away March 19, 2022.
Avery Douglas, Sr. was born on December 19, 1944 into the union of Albert and Alberta (Mixon) Douglas. He was the eighth child of nine.
He accepted Christ at an early age at Greater Solomon Baptist Church.
He graduated from Northeastern High School in 1964. After graduating he enlisted in the United States Army where his duties ranged from MP to carbine sharp shooter. He then went on to work at General Dynamics for 25 years where he held varying roles including a supervisor and auditor.
Avery married Annette Bailey, July 27, 1991 and resided in Sterling Heights, MI.
Avery loved the Lord and was dedicated to serving him.
On March 19, 2022, Avery made his transition to the Lord. In addition to his loving second wife of 30 years, he leaves to cherish his memory eight loving children; Annette : Avery, Jr., Armond, Avonte, and Aubrey; Irma Jean : Charles, Curtis, Keyanna, and David (David Jr., Toria); brother, Tyrone Douglas; special niece Rhonda Scott; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Alberta Douglas and first wife Irma Jean Douglas.
