Clifford Kitchen, 69, of Canton, MI passed away March 6, 2021.

On March 6, 2021 God called Clifford Ray Seymour Kitchen home to be with the Lord. Cliff was born in Niagara Fall, New York on August 17, 1951. His parents were Sherman and Arleather Kitchen (both deceased).

Cliff grew up in Cleveland, Ohio where he attended public schools. He graduated from Glenville Senior High School in Cleveland. Following his high school graduation he graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Technology in 1974.  Cliff graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1987 with a Master of Science degree. While at Bowling Green State he coopted at Kodak in Rochester, New York.

Cliff was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. Cliff worked at HydraMatic, a General Motors Company where he was in charge of suppling the mile and a half by ¾ of a mile wide plant with tall the cutting tools. The plant was the largest GM plant in America with 10,000 hourly and 4,000 salary workers. Cliff later worked at General Motors, North America n Operations where he was a Senior Project Engineer. Cliff retired after 36 years of service.

Aside from working Cliff enjoyed playing jazz and making jazz CD’s. He also made many DVD’s from pictures. Bar-B-Queing and smoking meat and fish was his passion. No one could smoke meat as well as he thought he could. Cliff, along with his wife Clara and son Clifford Jr., were members of Bethel AME Church of Ann Arbor, MI, under the leadership of Pastor Mashod Evans. Cliff sang in the men’s choir and the mass choir and loved serving the Lord. He was also part of the kitchen committee.

During his life he accomplished most of his endeavors and had fun achieving them. He had a close relationship with his family. He was lovingly called Mr. Cliff or Uncle Cliff. He enjoyed coaching his sons softball and basketball practices and he went to all the games and tournaments. Cliff was a loving husband and father. The life he lived and the things that he did speak for him.

Cliff leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Clara; son Clifford Jr.; siblings George, Patricia (David Jr.) Horton, Roberta & Olivia Kitchen; one niece Tiffany; nephews Sherman Kitchen II, David Elliott Horton III (Saza) of Cleveland, Ohio; brother-in-law George McMillon; sister-in-laws Lillie Baraka, Carol McMillon, Patricia McMillon; niece Sandy McMillon; nephews George Nicholas McMillon, Andre & Kelly Baraka, R.J. Ruben, Michael Barnett, Weston Banks; and a host of other relatives and friends.
