Curtiss Eugene Meeks, Jr., Age 48, of Pittsburgh, PA passed away August 12, 2019.

Curtiss Eugene Meeks, Jr. was born to the union of Curtiss Eugene Sr. and Marlene O. Meeks. He was preceded in death by his father Curtiss Sr. Curtiss Jr. transition from this life on Monday, August 12, 2019 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His earthly chains have been broken and he is now free from its devastation and pain. He was a quiet child and always appeared happy. He learned valuable life skills such as leadership, teamwork, adaptability, self-confidence and the importance of physical fitness from his parents and as a Boy Scout. He remained a scout until he earned the highest achievement level, that of Eagle Scout.

Curtiss grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin and graduated from Tremper High School. During high school he became very proficient in wrestling and reached the national level. As a young adult, he relocated to Michigan to live with his Grandmother Ribbron until he purchased his own home. He was so proud when he made this purchase. During his time in Michigan, Curtiss worked for Wayne County Government in the Department of Public Works; while working as a laborer he took the foreman’s examination and passed. The promotion did not come quick enough; Curtiss soon left the County to pursue other challenges. Moving to Pennsylvania and to North Carolina gave him an opportunity to try a variety of jobs, but he was not satisfied until he launched his own business as a Mobile Auto Mechanic. He had finally found his niche in life. He was a Certified Mechanic who had earned his credentials many years before starting this business.

Curtiss enjoyed traveling and was able to do this through his membership with the Sin City Motorcycle Club which is a national organization. While in Detroit, he belonged to the Sin City Deciples and when he moved to Pennsylvania he joined another Chapter. Curtiss was known to the Club Members as Chicken Hawk. He had the spirit of a hawk with his fearless, but gentle nature. As a hawk he soared high in order to achieve his best.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving mother Marlene Meeks; siblings Terrance meeks, Reatha Smith Baker (Desmond); Grandmother Thelma Meeks; Great Aunts Mildred Jackson, Frances Russel; Great Great Aunt Mary Hazel Flewellyn; Aunts Victoria Baker, Minister Cynthia Tomlinson (Melvin); Uncle John Ribbron; 1st Cousins Scherrard Baker (Erin), Brannon Baker; Uncle of nine, Elwyn Smith II, LaMar Smith, ShaQuise Smith, Kaitlyn Whyers, Trivanna Meeks, Tianna Meeks, Lillianna Volakis, Julian Meeks, Travis Meeks; Great Uncle of three, Ellyse Williams, Elyus Williams, and Aubrille Whyers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
