Dale A. Baloh

Obituary

Dale Alan Baloh, 64, of Taylor, MI passed away on November 14, 2021.

Dale was born in Detroit, Michigan to John Frank and Barbara Baloh on June 27, 1957. He went to high school at Thurston High School and graduated in 1975.

Dale was a tender-hearted and very warm person. He made friends easily of strangers and would talk to anyone in earshot. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved camping; so much so, he spent the past eight summers at Camp Dearborn with his youngest son Ethan. He was also a big baseball, hockey and football fan.

Dale is survived by his wife Melissa Dobbins; sons Ethan and Codi Baloh; daughters Cadi and Courtney Baloh; 3 grandchildren; sisters Darlene Deberry, Diane Shocking; brothers Don and David Baloh. He was preceded in death by his parents and best friend Doug Laurila.

Dale was a great dancer. He always wanted to make everyone smile with his playful and witty personality.  He had a boisterous laugh that could be heard from miles away. He was very funny. He played piano and saxophone growing up and fancied himself as an expert harmonica player (HE WAS NOT!). He loved all music besides rap. He ate like a ravenous horse but kept his physique. He was addicted to carbs-his favorite chair was always surrounded by cookies, licorice, peanut M&M’s and snack cakes, always within arm’s reach.

Dale struggled with alcoholism his entire adult life, but had been sober since Mar 20, 2020. He was proud of himself and we were very proud of him. He was a hard worker, always showing up with smiles for everyone. He also loved to garden and has many houseplants.
