Enid Y, Essex, Age 57, of Detroit, MI passed away April 18, 2019.
Enid Yvette Hawk-Essex was born September 12, 1961 in Detroit MI. The family later moved to Royal Oak Township, where she graduated from Ferndale High School in 1979. She later received her degree from Dorsey School of Business.
Enid married her soulmate Wendell Essex on December 17, 1988. Wendell has been a very devoted husband, caring for his wife during her lengthy illness. Enid begin her career at Neighborhood Service Organization in 1988, where she retired in 2017 due to her illness. Enid loved traveling, planning family events, shopping and most of all, just running things. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren Abria and Mario. She always took them on trips and made sure to see them every school break and holidays.
Enid made her transition on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Regency, a Villa Center in Taylor, MI. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Wendell; daughter Erika (Anton) Hawk; son William; grandchildren Abria McRae and Mario McRae Jr.; God-daughter Jasmine Snider; sisters Vanessa (Howard) Hawk, Hopi (Joseph) Johnson; brother Craig (Angela) Grimes; adopted sisters Aliysha Hanks and Tahari Hawk; sister-in-law Colleen Essex; aunts Johnnie Mae Hawk, Melba Hawk and Alloteen Hawk; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
