Ilander P. Johnson, Age 58, of Romulus, MI, passed away November 24, 2019.
Ilander P. Johnson was born in Detroit, Michigan at Harper Hospital to the union of the late Willie L. and Marie Clara Johnson on May 7, 1961.
She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony L. Johnson on April 6, 2010, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie L. Johnson, and her sister Jean E. Farmer.
She received her high school diploma from Romulus High School and also attended Dorsey Business School and worked for Delta Airlines.
On November 22, 1983, she was blessed with her first son Darryl A. Waller Jr.
In June 1998, Ilander married the love of her life Anthony L. Johnson and to this union one son was born on April 5, 1989, Anthony L. Johnson.
Ilander accepted Christ at an early age of 12 and was baptized in the Detroit River on Belle Isle under the leadership of Reverend Lipford. She later joined New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Inkster in 1997, and was baptized there in 1997. Under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Joseph A. Stephens. She served on various auxiliaries; Pastor’s Aide, Nurses Guild and helped with the food ministries.
Ilander also volunteers for the Detorit Montreux Jazz Festival and Newport Jazz Festival of California.
Ilander made her transition on November 24, 2019. She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Darryl Waller Jr. and Anthony L. Johnson; grandchildren, Gianna and Bianca; sister, Marvis (Rodney) Hill; brother, Aaron (Mayu) Johnson; host of nieces and nephews; two aunts, Wilma Belle and Ruth (Vernon) Clark; a host of cousins, relatives and special friends, Pamela Newton, Olivia Ross and Shantay (Darrel) Shelton.
