Isabelle Gray-Ellison, Age 94, of Inkster, MI passed away February 8, 2019.
Isabelle was born in McRae, Georgia on April 5, 1924 to the late Malachi and Willie Mae Height. She graduated from Helena High School. The family later migrated to Jacksonville, Florida.
In the late 1940’s, Isabelle moved to Detroit for a better life. After moving to Detroit she went to cosmetology school. In 1976 she opened her own beauty salon called La Pompadour. She did hair for 40+ years. Isabelle was a part of the Theta Nu Sigma National Sorority. She was well respected in her profession. She loved our biennial family reunions and her family.
Her nephew Vincent and his wife Kimberly helped care for her. Cousin Ruby helped with her care as well. Favorites: color blue, flower roses, season spring, book bible.
She was proceeded in death by her mother and father; her sisters, Lillie Mae, Johnnie Mae, Laura, Berneice, Annie, Emma Jean and Sarah; her brothers, L.C., Chester and Willie Jean.
