Joyce Sitarski

Joyce Elaine Sitarski (Moody), 69, of Northville, Michigan passed away on July 29th, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 7th, 1952 to Verlon Moody and Virginia Senart (Plank) in Wayne,  Michigan. Joyce graduated from Romulus High School in 1970 where she meet her husband, Daniel Sitarski. They married on October 23rd, 1971.

Joyce was a lifelong waitress, beginning at 15 years old and working until her death. For the past 35+ years she worked at El Nibble Nook in Livonia Michigan. Joyce loved her job, her coworkers, her customers, and made many great friends there. Joyce was known for loving life. She was a hostess extraordinaire, welcoming all into her home. She was known for her cooking, especially her bean soup, her stuffed cabbages, and her macaroni salad. She made the best mixed drinks and loved serving Spanish coffees.

Joyce loved Christmas! She decorated 20+ trees and her home was transformed into a magical wonderland every year. She was known for her beautiful Christmas village display, having had painted several of the pieces on our own. Joyce loved taking care of her flower beds and she was never afraid to tackle a home improvement project. Most of all, Joyce loved her grandkids. They were truly her world and her everything.

Joyce will be remembered for her sense of humor and her outgoing personality. Joyce shared her talents with so many. She was one of the most giving human beings.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Deanna (Dwayne) Fietzer, her son Daniel (Jen) Sitarski, her grandkids, Devon Fietzer, Olivia Fietzer, Rylan Sitarski, Dalton Fietzer, and Jase Sitarski. She is survived by her mother, Virginia Senart, and two sisters, Brenda (Chuck) Sharrow and Beverly French, as well as a brother in law, Richard Zmierchek. She is also survived by her husband’s siblings, with whom she was very close to. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also surviving is her beloved dog, Suzie Q.

She is predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Daniel Sitarski, her father, Verlon Moody, her sister Betty Zmiercheck, her father in law, Cas Sitarski, and her mother in law, Veronica Mousseau.
