Juanita Delores Redding, 73, of Inkster, MI passed away May 14, 2021.
Juanita Delores Redding was born in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Prince and Zenobia Alma Gilbreath on November 25, 1947.
Juanita moved to Inkster, Michigan in 1952. She accepted Christ at an early age-at First Missionary Baptist Church in Inkster, Michigan. She later moved her membership to the Inkster Springhill Missionary Baptist Church in Inkster, Michigan. Under the pastorage of Rev. Dr. Oscar R. Carter, she served on the joint Usher Board, Church Clerk, Church Secretary, Women’s Day Committee, Church Anniversary Committee, Leadership Council, Culinary Committee, assisting with special programs, Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner, Youth/Young Adult Roller Skating, Church Picnic/Fishing, Church Bowling, Seniors Night Out Dinner, and Down-Home Sunday. Active membership declined after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002.
Juanita attended the Inkster Public Schools graduating from Inkster High School in 1966 and Cleary College in 1968. She enjoyed reading, roller-skating, bowling, loved fishing, cooking and spending time with the family…family always came first! She loved being a secretary for the following: Eastern Michigan University Insurance Department, Communities United for Action Inc., City of Inkster/City Clerk’s Office/ Parks and Recreation, Springhill Baptist Church and Wayne Regional Educational Service Agency where she retired after 21 years.
Juanita departed this life May 14, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband Ellee Reding Jr., son Ellee Redding III (PI), brother John H Edwards, sister Mildred L. Ward,
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Reggie L. Redding; grandson Reggie L. Redding, Jr.; granddaughter Raine Redding; step-daughter Tozerra Massey; step- granddaughter Towana Massey; step-great-grandson Andre Grece Jr.; step-great-granddaughter Jianna Kenley; sister-in-law Mary Edwards; three daughter-in-laws, Barbara Redding, Sonya Reading, Tamika Jones; best friends Dorothy Chambers and Doris Gilbreath; nieces and nephews Carolyn Brown, Felicia Dixon, Karen Hopwood, Rodney Hopwood; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. She also had a special love in her heart for Drenda “Beauty” Keith, Kennete Smith and her daughter Caria Taylor.
