Kenneth J. Johnson, Age 82, of Southgate, MI passed away April 26, 2019.
Kenneth James Johnson aka Ken was born April 2, 1937 in Detroit, MI to the late Napoleon and Dora Johnson.
Kenneth graduated from the Detroit Public School System and attended college. He was gainfully employed with General Motors as a crew leader for 27 years until his retirement in 1997. He was also a Licensed Electrician and a Reserve Police Officer.
He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Evelyn (Brown) 63 years ago. They had a solid beautiful, fun, loving marriage. Ken loved sports fishing, dancing, music (The Whispers was his Motown favorite), traveling, and most of all he loved his family and friends. He had a heart of gold, always a wise word to share and a listening ear.
He suddenly took a turn for the worse and departed this life on April 26, 2019 despite the many miraculous bounce backs God sought to take him home. He was truly a fighter. He was preceded in death by his parents Napoleon and Dora Johnson, one daughter Debra, two sons Kenneth Jr and Kevin and one granddaughter April, all of Detroit, MI.
Ken leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 63 years Evelyn Johnson; his daughters Katherine Johnson of Richton, Illinois, Michelle Johnson of Southgate, Michigan and Juanita Garrett of Battle Creek, Michigan; two sisters Joyce Turner and Barbara Ramseur; six grandsons Corey, Kyle (Rashanda), Anthony, Gregory Jr, Ebbin, and Diallo; two granddaughters Kiara (Turome) and Aisha; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
