Lorraine D. Lewis

Lorraine D. Lewis, Age 61, of Taylor, MI passed away May 21, 2019.

Lorraine Diane Woodbury Lewis was born on October 20, 1957 to William Lonnie Woodbury II and Kathryn Sellers in Pittsburgh PA.

Lorraine is survived by her children Lisa Woodbury (Pennsylvania), Monica Gayle-Robbyn Lewis-Gaines (Nathaniel),  Matthew George Lewis (Genevieve); her mother Kathryn Sellers; siblings Kimberling Woodbury, Michael Woodbury, Kevin Woodbury, Douglas Woodbury, Elijah Sellers Jr; her sisters Christina Bennett (Charles) and Andrea Matthews (Michael); grandchildren Donnavan Gross, Jamiauna Washington, Alexis Mosley, Allani Mosley, Tiquara Washington, Alyssa Mosley, Allan Mosley, Nathaniel Gaines III, Matthew Lewis Jr, and Michael Lewis; two great grandchildren Jaden Bey and Alayah Stamps. Also, she had tons of bonus kids that she loved like her own; and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Lorraine grew up in Beltzhoover, she attended Arlington and Knoxville schools. She graduated from South Hills High School in 1975. Lorraine attended CCAC for her nursing education she graduated in 1979 with her LPN license. She worked as an LPN for 17 years when she then went on to obtain her RN license.

Lorraine moved to Detroit in 1996, where she continued her nursing career and was able to move up the ranks. She worked as a Director of Nursing for the last 20 years in long-term care. Lorraine was a nurse for over 40 years and she absolutely loved it. Her love, dedication and compassion were unmatched.

Lorraine was caring, generous, nurturing and a force to be reckoned with. She had one of the most giving spirits. Her favorite thing to do was to bake, cook and watch her shows. She enjoyed most of all her grandchildren. She was so proud of them.

Lorraine departed this life on May 21, 2019. She was preceded in death by her father Elijah Sellers, her daughter Davonne Woodbury and her granddaughter Breona Moore.
