Manya J. Anderson

Manya Janine Anderson, Age 56, of Ypslianti, Michigan passed away September 27, 2019.

Manya Janine Anderson was placed on this earth for fifty-six years. Manya professed Christ at an early age. She was a daughter and a mother of two children. Brian Skinner and Nicole Birdsong. Brian preceded his mother in death.

Manya was born on August 22, 1963 to the union of Joseph and Shirley Anderson. Shirley preceded Manya in death. Manya was the fourth child of five from their union. Later, Shirley remarried Alton Bell and two additional children were born. She leaves to mourn her siblings and their spouses: Tyra Anderson Williams (David), Kimberly Patrice Anderson Richardson (who preceded Manya in death), Jospeh Lewis Anderson (Ericka), Alaina Anderson Drake, Sharla Anderson Towers (Rodney) and Jayme Anderson.

Manya graduated from Robichaud High School and attended Northwood University for a period of time. She also pursed a degree and worked for the University of Michigan for over twenty-five years. She retired from the University eleven years ago due to health reasons.

Manya had a love for life. She loved to laugh and joke with friends and family. One of her greatest past times was going to play Bingo with her daughter, Nicole. She also loved going to the movies, and playing crossword puzzles. She had a smile that could light up a room. She will be remembered fondly. She will be missed by her daughter, her father, her sisters, her brother, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Manya will always be held close and dear in our hearts until we meet again. Rest well and in peace our dearest sister. We thank God for your entrance into this world, and the lessons we learned from your life.

“The time when you did not see any footprints was when I carried you.” It was at that final moment, God lifted Manya up and took her home.
