Robert Dewey Baker, Age 71, of Westland, MI passed away December 30, 2019.
On December 30, 2019 Robert D. Baker, 71 of Westland, Michigan lost his battle with cancer. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Bob was born on June 2, 1948 in Pinsonfork, Kentucky, the son of Lydia Collins. At the age of 13 he moved to Michigan.
On October 10, 1969 he married Mary Soraruf in Ypsilanti. Bob and Mary lived and raised their family in Westland while he worked as a spray painter at the Wayne Ford Truck Plant. After 42 years he retired to enjoy life, relax at his cottage and spend time with friends and family. His sense of humor, passion for antiquing, love of cars will always be remembered.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Mary; his four children Jennifer Lynn (Roy) Voss, Robert James (Tracy) Baker, James Anthony (Joanne) Baker, Stephanie Elaine Baker; 12 grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Bob was a hard worker with a kind heart, he always put others needs before his own. His memory will go on in the hearts of those he has touched through his life journey.
