Shareta Marnyce “Red” “Reta” Watson
Shareta was born October 8, 1973 to Yvonne Ekpenyong and Richard Bankhead in Detroit Michigan. She graduated from Martin Luther King Jr Sr High School Class of 1991. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member at Williams Chapel Missionary Church in Detroit Michigan.
Shareta received her associate degree from WCCCD, and was working on her bachelor degree in cyber security.
Shareta or known to many as “Red” or “Reta” was a fun, loving, always joking, beautiful young lady with a bubbly personality. She was always cracking jokes, making you laugh and spoke fluent Spanish when doing so. Shareta loved her family and she loved her cat Comfort.
Shareta leaves to cherish her memories; her loving mother Yvonne Ekpenyong; 3 sisters, 2 brothers; LaShell Bankhead, Keisha Swain of Hawthorn, California; Shamel Richmond, Richard Bankhead and Demetrius Ashford of Alabama; 2 loving Aunts Sharon Rena Blanks and Elaine Towner; close cousins Stephanie Towner, Yolanda Pearl Blanks, Gwen Blanks-Dove, and LaSonja Blanks-Livers; loving sister-friends Patricia McLemore, Nicole Macon, Keisha Macon, Hazera Ullah, Jolika Dumas and God-daughter Dion Blanks. She also leaves a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other family members and many friends.
Shareta “Reta” was preceded in death by her daughter, Chavonne Amani “Butter” Watson, father Richard Bankhead, sister Belinda Bankhead, cousin Laurice Simpson, uncle Lee Watson, aunt Patricia Simpson, grandparents Pearle Benton and Chester Watson. great-grandparents Aquila and Robert Benton.
