Waynard L. Shreve, 89, of Romulus, MI passed away October 8, 2020.

Waynard Shreve was born March 20, 1931 in Romulus, Michigan to Percival and Irene Shreve.  Percy and Irene Shreve were devout Christians who raised their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord and Waynard accepted Christ as his Savior in his youth.

Waynard was raised in Romulus, Michigan along with five siblings:  Donald, Charles, Kenneth, Sharon and Lester.  Three of his siblings preceded him in death:  Charles, Donald, and Lester.   Waynard attended Romulus Public Schools and then entered the U.S Navy in May of 1949.  He was stationed in Charleston, SC where he met Frankie Vereen who was in nursing school in Charleston.  They married in 1951 and for 67 years, until Frankie’s death, they abided in holy matrimony.  They were blessed with five children:  Waynard, Jr., Deborah, Denise, Diane, Stacey; niece/daughter Louvenia Steele and they lovingly added Fred and Alicia Harbor as their children.  Waynard was an automotive worker and climbed the ranks to supervision until his retirement in 1977.  Waynard was an avid fisherman, boater, and camper.  He liked cars, working on cars, and he liked to travel.  He loved all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was truly a man of God.  Waynard was a member at First Baptist Church in Romulus, Michigan.  He later became a member of Detroit World Outreach in Redford, Michigan.  At his passing, he was a member of Christ Temple City of Refuge in Inkster, Michigan.

On Thursday, October 8, 2020, he departed this life into eternal rest.  He is survived by his five children Waynard, Jr. (Cheryl), Deborah Bedward (Francisco, deceased), Denise Franklin (Michael), Diane Brown (Lionel), Stacey Sr. (Brenda), Louvenia Steele (Danny), Fred Harbor (Jen), Alicia Harbor, thirteen grand-children, twenty great-grand-children, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who all cherish his memory.
